Colorado Junior Crew is the premier rowing club in Colorado for athletes in grades 8-12 (age 13-18). We are a "no cut" program, welcoming rowers of all skill levels. Our professional coaching staff has extensive rowing and coaching experience and we look forward to the opportunity to share this life-long sport with Colorado teens.


Never rowed before?

Are you new to the sport and not sure that you're ready to commit for the entire Fall Session? CJC offers a three-week trial period during Fall Session. Sign up and give rowing a try. If you decide that the sport isn't for you, you can cancel anytime during the trial period and receive a refund for 50% of the program fees.


practice schedule

CJC practice schedules are based on the athlete's age at the start of the session as well as experience level, competitive desire, and ability.

novice/learn-to-row

Athletes new to the sport (Learn-to-Row) and those who started rowing AFTER May 27, 2019 (Novices) may attend practice a minimum of 2 days per week and a maximum of 4 days per week.

It is advised that Novice/Learn-to-Row athletes under 15 years of age at the start of Fall Session attend a maximum of 3 practices per week to ensure sport-life-school balance and to ease into the unique physical demands of rowing. Athletes should maintain a consistent practice attendance schedule each week throughout Fall Session.  Those athletes 15 years of older can attend a maximum of 4 days per week.

To accommodate the new BVSD bell times, practice has been pushed back 15 minutes.

Monday  4:15pm-6:30pm
Tuesday  4:15pm-6:30pm
Thursday 4:15pm-6:30pm
Friday 4:15pm-6:30pm
Saturday  8am-10:15am (Varsity only)

experienced rowers

 Athletes who started rowing prior to May 28, 2019 are expected to attend a minimum of 3 practice days each week.

Experienced rowers under the age of 15 at the start of Fall Session should attend practice a maximum of 4 days each week and should plan to maintain the same days each week throughout Fall Session. Those over 15 have the option to attend all 5 days a week. 

A limited number of excused/unexcused absences are permitted during the session.
